Puttin’ in Work
This summer, much like every summer of mine I put in major work. I use my summers to take my game up 10 levels. This summer I wanted to focus on my range, and shooting from all over the court and my all around explosiveness. I spent time working with two different trainers focusing on different areas of my game.
My mornings would start out at 8:30, with an oatmeal breakfast. After that, I would relax for a little bit, then head to my first workout. My first workout of the day was always basketball. My basketball trainer is Gary Lampkins and we got together at various gyms in the DC area to work on everything. The biggest thing that he does for me is train my mind, which people forget is a huge part of the game of basketball and life. After about 3 hours in the gym with “Lamp”, I would make my way to Wawa for a good old turkey sandwich before going home to rest for an hour.
After relaxing, I would hop in my Tahoe and drive out to Jessup, Md where I would meet Alonzo Ruffin and his Accelerate Your Game crew to get my conditioning and power workout in. We would do vertimax, bungee cord sprints, and many other workouts which have increased my bounce, speed, and agility.
At night, to finish off my day I would play pick-up with all of the other talent that the DMV (DC/MD/VA) has to offer. Check out this video from one of my workouts at Accelerate Your Game.
