One chapter ends, another begins!

What’s going on it’s been a long time since I last blogged and I apologize for that. I’m sure you all know that a lot has gone on in my life, happy and sad. The sad being my career at Duke University is over, and I will forever miss putting on that #2 Jersey and running out on to Coach K court in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Now for the good, I graduated from Duke University on May 15th, and it was a very special day for my family and I! I tweeted (@ndotsmitty via twitter) about how proud my mom was, well, my sister and other family members were equally as proud! For high school athletes out there, the ball won’t bounce forever, neither will your money if your not wise! Think about that, a degree will last forever! Now, time for my dream to slowly become a reality, the NBA draft on June 23rd, and today is May 23, it’s almost here! I just finished up in Chicago at the 2011 NBA Draft Combine! Outside of competing and showing the scouts what I can do on the court, the best part about the trip was hanging out with the 2011 Draft Class, with good guys like Kyrie Irving, Kyle Singler, Kemba Walker, Derrick Williams, Josh Selby, and the list goes on, we had a fun week.. Now I’m headed back to DC to continue training and prepare for team workouts, and position myself in the draft! It’s crazy to think about the draft, looking back to when I was 6 years old, at USAir Arena where the Washington Bullets played (Washington Wizards) being the ball boy for every home game, and dreaming about being, the next Rod Strickland, and star in the NBA! Now it’s here. Grind time! Next time I blog will be after June 23rd, will the Dream become a Reality??? Stay tuned!!
